with a look at the forecast. right now. here is lisa argen. >> it is nice and sunny in most areas and certainly cool out there. we are looking at a few lingering showers to sink south of the bay area. live doppler 7-hd shows some showers south of salinas. this is all in association with the cold upper-level low that continues to exit the bay area. as it does, we will see a pretty nice day today. temperatures are coming out of the 30s. we'll see 40s and 50s early on, but afternoon highs still shy of where we should be for this time of the year. we are looking at numbers in the upper 50s for afternoon highs for oakland and san jose and that brings us anywhere 10 degrees below average. another round of cool weather coming tomorrow morning and rain chances returning mid-week. >>> for many people in the bay area, this is coldest morning of the season so far. the coldest temperatures as we just saw can be found in the north bay. that is where our reporter is in napa. >> hello. good morning. it is a cold morning here in napa. my phone app says a brisk 34 degrees as the sun is starting to

at the forecast and it is something special. >> lisa: here is the view from mount tam. it's nice and clear and it feels like 33 degrees this morning in santa rosa. 30s are common from napa to novato to the delta where we have fog. elsewhere, a little warmer with low 50s in san francisco. should be in the mid-60s to upper 60s today. 68 in half moon bay as well as san francisco. we'll see low 70s in the south bay and looks like 72 for our east bay. tonight we'll see more low clouds and fog. it will be a player in the forecast tomorrow offering a cooler end to the weekend and bigger changes ahead. >> terry: new this morning, the man got stuck down a storm drain has been rescued in the east bay. they were able to free the 27-year-old man from the storm drain in pinole. someone heard his cries for help about 9:00. he was in there a good three hours at least. he suffered only minor abrasions to his shoulder and being weejd inside the pipe. authorities are investigating how he got stuck in a the pipe in the first place. >>> developing news where police have arrested 40 people at a house party. it

at the weather with our meteorologist lisa argen. hi, carolyn. good morning, everyone. a live look outside. it is dry. that front moved through quickly. yes, bra the heaviest rain to the north bay. over an inch there with about a half-inch around the central bay. live doppler 7 hd shows the front moving through the central valley. the sierra nevada they have and really very little left of it. we are looking at the temperatures dropping. the winds are calm and the numbers into the lower 40s this morning in our north bay valleys. chance of an isolated shower still remains this morning with 40s and 50s around the bay. by this afternoon upper 50s coast with some sunshine, to the low 60s. we will be dry and then for tonight look for a few more clouds. our dry weather not going to last all that long w will have the details on our next dance of rain coming up. >> with more showers expected, people who live in areas prone to flooding and mood slides are watching the weather. they are very nervous. abc7 news reporter cornell bernard checked on those areas during last night's heavy rain. >> the rain

. terry. >> lisa, thanks retch. right now menlo park police are investigating a drive-by shooting that left four people wounded, one in critical condition this morning. those victims were taken to stanford hospital and that's where abc7 news reporter kera is here with more. >> good morning, terry. those four men are still here at stanford hospital. as you mention the, one in critical condition. one in serious condition. the other two reportedly are in good condition. let's get to you the video we have that last night. it happened just after 8:00 that police received multiple 911 calls of shots fired. that's near bell haven elementary school. video we have from the drive by shooting scene shows the aftermath shell casings and the residential street blocked off after those four men were hit. commander tells abc7 news there is no known motive for the shooting. >> we do have shootings here, and we do have gang activity in this area but we don't know if that's connected at this time. the victims were having a get together in the front of the house. they were just hanging out when the s

's meteorologist lisa argen. >> good morning, everyone. the timing on these two systems pretty good because we really are looking at the rain showers ending throughout the morning hours. the embarcadero right now lit up pretty nicely and the showers are with us for sure. they will be tapering off throughout the morning hours. here's a live look. you see most of the activity in the north bay here and some of the heavier returns in between santa rosa and petaluma. highway 101. so definitely watch out here. some moderate rain over into sonoma. and lighter rain heading to hayward and further south we get the rain shadow effect where the rain is held back from the south bay. so you are looking dry right now, but rainfall amounts will continue to add up throughout the overnight hours as our second colder system comes our way. but a break this afternoon. numbers in the 60s. today the warmer day. terry. >> thanks very much. >> san jose police spent much of the night searching the area around a high school after a chase of armed robbery suspects turned into a shootout, leaving one officer injured. happ
